Tea Time in Echten

As an Englishman living in The Netherlands- I have to say that every time I visited Tea Time with family and friends, was an unforgettable experience! This is as British as you can get!

Scones taste just like my mother’s, clotted cream is British - they import it from the U.K. - I had to ask ;-)

The sandwiches are as we in Britain say “Proper!” - my Dutch wife would say “heerlijk!”. But for me - the star of the show is a carrot cake! That cake was not always as good - but sometime in 2016 they made it like this and during my visit in spring, I tasted this version they have right now and said to the owner Bert: “This is Heaven, don’t change it!”

The entire atmosphere from the interior of the building to way personell is dressed and music playing, makes you feel like you have been transported in time back to 1920’s.

The place is busy on weekends - we usually come during the week. Highly recommended!
