    I really wanted to like this place, but this was one of my worst restaurant experiences. It looked quite nice, has a lovely view and the waitress was kind. Unfortunately this could not make up for what happened; we waited a little more than an hour for a salad and a fish dish though approximately only half the tables outside were occupied. I had ordered the salad without cheese (I'm highly lactose-intolerant and try to avoid any milk products, if possible) but with cucumbers instead. What I finally received: eight(!) slices of cucumber and two(!) tomatoes cut into eighths with some oil and vinegar on it. No salt or pepper, not even offered at the table. There was no mozzarella but grated cheese on it and some wilted basilic leaves, so I had it returned to the kitchen and was told I'd get a new one. What I got five minutes later was exactly the same salad someone had roughly scrubbed off the cheese and put a new handful of rucola on top to cover up the remaining bits of cheese. As I have had a tough day travelling from Amsterdam, doing sports and working I was not in the mood for further discussions and decided to simply put away every single piece of cheese (exactly what you wish to do in a restaurant when you specifically ordered something to fit your needs: feeling like dissecting something.) and eat the rest. My mother's dish was at first missing the sauce for the fries, she got it when she asked for it but it really wasn't enough. The fries were quite okay (you can't do that much wrong with fries, can you?), her side salad was really minimalistic and basically just window-dressing. She claimed the fish to be "nothing special though edible", which is her polite expression for "I could have also gotten that for a quarter of that price at a fast food place".
    We finished and when we were asked we told that we were not happy with how things were handled and what we ate and I carefully hinted that any other restaurant would at least try to make up for mistakes like these. The waitress then tried to get us a discount though she seemed really uncomfortable when she realized she would have to talk to her boss about that. It ended up with that man standing at our table pointing at the bill and quite impolitely requested us to pay. (By the way, I really don't mind paying 40€ or something for a good dish but nearly 10€ for a "salad", consisting of the simplest and cheapest ingredients without ANYTHING special ist really ridiculous.) Well, I tried to explain the situation and how disappointed we were with the food and service (in english, my dutch is quite poor) but I didn't even get an apology. Instead I was told (in dutch!) there would have been nothing wrong with the food and my salad would have even been made completely new (!). I requested him politely to speak english which was ignored and he got louder, wanting us to pay and leave, he didn't even care if the customer was happy or anything. Really, really rude and highly non-professional. Other guests from other tables later expressed their indignation about how we were treated to us. After all my mother and I agreed on just leaving as fast as possible, paying whatever they requested because, well, you can't properly talk to someone who behaves like that and there is simply no use in trying. Even if everything you want is an apology and the feeling that your remarks are not ignored. I mean, even at McDonalds they manage to at least be polite and make up for mistakes.
    Asking to pay by card led to the next drama as the boss remarked our card would not work in their machine. he said quite a lot, quite loudly, quite rude sounding, in dutch none of us understood but after a while he let us try our card and it worked perfectly (of course.). Think he just didn't have that contract with our kind of card, just with mastercard, and urgently tried to avoid paying the fee for offering using v-pay/amex/visa.
    After all this place simply made us feel like the boss just cared for his money and not for quality and a nice dinner experience. Clearly cannot recommend. Sorry.
    We left this place quite shocked about a behaviour like that and concluded the evening by having a dessert and cocktails at a much nicer place.
