A very surprising experience in a very small restaurant in the small town of Schagen. Excellent food bordering on 'fine dining' that is usually only to be found in larger cities and for a very reasonable price. The chef succeeds in producing dishes that have great imagination and flair. The ambiance is cosy but refined and has an air of sophistication which is reflected in the dishes. Service is leisurely, but the maître has her eyes everywhere and knows exactly where and when the next table is to be served. My only gripe was being charged for bread that was offered. In any other good restaurant it would have been included, but all in all, this restaurant is a gem, a wonderful addition to the cuisine of Noord Holland and one that I will certainly return to.
